I adore this. But I have to ask, is it just by coincidence there happens to be a silhouette of a male face in the purple background or is that deliberate? Not to mention, the direction of her eyes adds to my curiosity!
Thank you very much for the kind words! It must just be a coincidence because it was definitely not the intension. When doing a water color kinda background like that sometimes I just want a quick shape and in that situation you just get what you get pretty much. It is definitely an interesting analysis though. Not sure I have ever stated this before but when I draw Supergirl I usually think of Swedish actress Ewa Aulin. Thank you again for your comment and interest in the piece! -JC
Thanks Shane! I am sure we can arrange that at some point! Any idea what character you would want? And btw, I still have your French cutout girl I owe you to mail sitting here. I am so sorry i have not yet, I suck Make sure you note me your address again, since i am frequenting the post office alot cause of commissions. -JC
I was thinking either black canary or the Julie Newmar styled Catwoman just let me know what I can paint for you! Im down to paint these days. and I'll note you that address asap... Hope all is well.. Hey I dunno if nickelodeon does out of house freelance but they are hiring on some stuff I'll send you those details too. Have a great day man!
Hey I am down with either of those! I am working on a Catwoman right now for someone, but it is more the newer Darwyn Cooke/Adam Hughes style one. I would love to do a Newmar style one. If given the option i would have gone for that one anyway. Black Canary would be fun as well, i actually have a bunch of sketches of her i did a few months back that i still like, that were totally different than any of the others i did. I should scan them to show ya. Thanks for the info on Nick, as i am in desperate need of employment. I will sign onto aim soon to see if you are around.
Thanks man! Yeah i should be posting more often. I have a folder on my desktop that says blog post 2010 and it has like over 30 new and finished things to post. I keep telling myself next week, ha. I should start posting sketches daily at least. Hope all is well! -JC
Ahhh nice man. I think i looked into that place back in 2008 after we ran into some people that worked there at the Toronto con and they recommended it. But, i was not a Canadian resident yet, so it was not worth applying. I am now though, ha. And I need a damn job, and no one seems to be hiring What show are you working on?
