If I were to open an etsy store, what kind of stuff would you want to see in there? Prints, sketches? Any input would be great. Thank you!

Far and away, I think original art is what you want to spotlight in your ETSY store. The truth is, most digital artists have a hard time moving prints as too many people believe that a buying a print is silly when one can download and print out for free, albeit at low rez, from your website or DA gallery. Original art sells better and that is a fact.

Yeah i hear you. It makes a lot of sense what you are saying, and i have felt that way for a long time. But just from my experience at conventions it never hurts also to have a selection of different formats of stuff.

Certainly, I totally agree, but originals sell faster and for more $$$ in my experience.

Echoing *EddiePerkins, having prints up is very awesome but having the opportunity to purchase a sketch or original is a cherished investment in an artist you like. Of course I'd expect an original to cost a fair amount more than a print - though I too am in a broke situation right now ^^;

Yeah i was thinking about pricing sketches and prelim stuff way cheaper than finished work just because it would give people the chance to get something.

You should probably ignore my comment because I'm too broke to buy anything. If I had any money to spend I'd prefer to buy originals of some sort, like sketches or paintings, but I'd buy prints too.

Probably the best idea is to just put up lots of different things and see what sells the most. At least with Etsy it's cheap to do.

Ahh no problem, i still appreciate the input regardless. Reason i am asking to begin with is because, i usually only sell original finished stuff, but i know not everyone wants to spend that much, and enjoys having some options. So hearing what people think is definitely helping. Thank you for your input!

Well, when I'm actually being productive and not a art-blocked mess, I find it's good to give people as many options as possible. Prints might not sell for much but they do sell, don't take too much effort and every bit helps. Also let's fans without much spending money still get something nice and signed.

Anyway, very welcome. I hope things turn around for me financially because I'd like to buy some of your work, or prints, someday.

Upload some paintings and your art book if you have any copies left. Any collabs with Michelle would be great cross-promotion. Prints and sketches are a given.

I also like the idea of you selling sketches- a lot of artists do that and they sell pretty well :)

Definitely prints and sketches. I don't know how often you're open for commission, but there's also a way to set up "requested" items in an etsy shop as well.

Yeah, I haven't looked into it, but I've seen a request button on a couple of shops. I think there's one on misscoffee's. The only thing is it might not be of benefit unless you're working with fixed prices.

But yeah, if you start a shop (and I get some $$$), I will definitely be one of your frequent customers!! :D

prints might be helpful for those hard to reach countries that have expensive shipping prices. But like exclusive ink wash illustrations like every couple weeks might bee a cool idea to use it for.
